Deltino Guerreiro

Deltino Guerreiro was born in 1990 in the district of Montepuez - Cabo Delgado.

He is a musician and economist. Deltino Guerreiro's sound is a mixture of influences, the result of his experiences from north to south of the country. From soul and R&B to the musical tradition of northern Mozambique, with lyrics sung in Portuguese, English and Emakhuwa, his melodies reflect the strong Arabic musical influence of Northern Mozambique.

 

In 2011, Deltino took first place in the music competition “SUPER TARDES” produced by STV.

 

In 2015, he won the “Male Revelation Artist” award at Ngoma Moçambique and was nominated by the Magazine newspaper as “best artist of 2015” alongside the renowned writer Paulina Chiziane.

 

In 2016, Deltino Guerreiro participated in national and international festivals such as the AZGO FESTIVAL and the FESTA DA MÚSICA. He was part of the CNN program “African Voices” which was broadcast for a week worldwide. In February of the same year, he released the album “EPARAKA” (Blessing) which is available on the main digital music sales platforms.

 

Also in 2016, Deltino won the “Best Male Voice” award at Ngoma Mozambique and collaborated with the English singer Joss Stone.

 

In 2017, he participated in the 5th edition of the international SAKIFO FESTIVAL (Reunion Islands).

 

In 2018, he was invited to be part of the “NOITES DO ÍNDICO” festival in Lisbon, Portugal.

 

In 2019, he was selected to be part of the IOMM (Indian Ocean Music Market) in Réunion Island and participated in the “FÊTE DE LA MUSIQUE” festival in Johannesburg, South Africa, and the “Festa da Música” in Luanda, Angola.

 

In the same year, he won the “Mozal Arts and Culture” Award in the music category and played for the first time with the Xiquitsi Orchestra, under the direction of Kika Materula.

 

In 2023, Deltino Guerreiro won the Best Male Voice award again at Ngoma.
